Cantanhede, a city full of history, is situated in an important agricultural area, half-way between Coimbra and Aveiro.
Famous for its Bairrada wines, it is also known for its trade fairs and agricultural shows, major events which attract thousands of visitors.
Cantanhede keeps most of its genuine traditions today such as stonework in Ançã limestone, tinwork and metalwork, basketry, hand painted ceramics, feather fans and clogs.
